FAQ
What age is best for a newborn circumcision at Thrive Kids Clinic?
We typically perform circumcisions on newborns who are up to 2 months. It's easier and generally safer when done at this early stage. If you're considering circumcision for your little one, we'd be glad to discuss the best timing during a consultation.
How do you ensure the circumcision procedure is safe?
Your baby's safety is our top priority. We use sterile techniques and provide detailed care instructions to prevent infection. Our experienced doctors are highly trained in performing circumcisions, ensuring that the procedure is both safe and comfortable.
Will the circumcision be painful for my baby?
We're committed to making sure your baby is as comfortable as possible. We use a local anesthetic to numb the area before the procedure to minimize pain. Our caring team is also there to soothe and comfort your baby throughout. We play music to soothe the baby.
How long does the circumcision procedure take and what should I expect during recovery?
The procedure itself usually takes about 10 to 15 minutes. Expect to be at the clinic for 1 hour. Recovery varies, but generally, the circumcision area heals within about 7 to 10 days. We'll provide you with detailed aftercare instructions to help manage any discomfort and ensure a smooth recovery for your baby.
Are there any follow-up visits required after the circumcision?
Yes, we like to see how your baby is healing and ensure everything is going as expected. We typically schedule a follow-up appointment about a week after the procedure. If you have any concerns in the meantime, we're just a call away and always ready to assist.
